Job title: Community Development Facilitator – 2 Vacancies
Job Overview/Summary:
A prestigious applied research institution based in Jordan is seeking a professional who should possess a strong background in Jordanian agriculture sector. She/ He should have a strong capacity for coordination and collaboration with the public and private sector institutions involved in implementing the concept of Land Degradation Neutrality in Jordan. The Community Development Facilitator will be responsible for the overall implementation and coordination of project activities within the governorate he/she assigned for.
Key responsibilities:
· Conduct regular discussions and engagement with local communities, farmers or community groups, government agencies, and other relevant institutions to promote sustainable forest, rangelands and land use management in prioritized areas.
· Actively develop and maintain communication and coordination with key stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation.
· Develop minutes of meeting, travel report, and other relevant documents to support the implementation of program/project activities and facilitate workshops, meetings, trainings, as well as other events conducted by project.
· Work closely on land use planning for technical and operational aspects of GIS and participatory mapping in prioritized sites.
· Provide technical support during trainings or site visits to support Local Reg. Ag. Experts.
· Provide support services to FFS and other training events or activities with in Component 2 at Governate levels.
· Works closely with M&E officer on accurate data collection, strict monitoring and feedback on program implementation and timely delivery of project interventions.
· Ensure that the project targeting strategy and approaches are adhered to during implementation and that gender is mainstreamed in all project activities and that woman beneficiaries participate effectively in project interventions and benefit in an equitable manner.
· Provide logistical and other support to project Finance & Administrative Assistant for local and regional events.
· Act as resource person at regional meetings with governmental stakeholders.
· Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Location:
Most of the tasks mentioned above will be primarily implemented in Ajloun (first vacancy) and Mafraq (second vacancy). Candidates based in these governorates are encouraged to apply.
Required Experience and qualification:
1. BSc degree in Agricultural, Agriculture Economics, Agribusiness, Ecology, Environment Management, Agriculture/Forestry, rangelands or other relevant discipline related to Business Administration.
2. At least 3 years’ experience in Land degradation projects/ smallholder agriculture, value chain/agribusiness development projects.
3. Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, preferably in climate-smart agriculture, sustainable herding practices, soil conservation, or biodiversity preservation.
4. Ability to work with rural communities using participatory methods and tools to capture key information.
5. Good interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
6. Ability to speak and write Arabic and English fluently.
7. Good computer skills.
